Top Ten Thursday: New Year's Resolutions Update

sleep with the stars instead of working on resolutions
This week's Top Ten Thursday is to check in on our New Year's Resolutions so here they are:

Things I will not do if I am so incline:

01/ I will not be rude to people even if they are rude to me - somewhat succeeded

02/ I will not try to please other people unnecessarily - let's just pretend I succeeded even though I can't seem to not fail at this

03/ I will not seek happiness in buying books - totally failed but I've got books!

04/ I will not do anything that will make my life difficult - failed but it will mostly be a fail no matter what I do anyway

05/ I will not pick fights with stupid people - failed but I don't care

Things I will do if I feel like it:

06/ I will write/finish those novels even it they will take a couple of years... - still working on this which means in a couple more years, I'll still be saying the same thing

07/ I will continue to draw, write and blog even if no one sees any of it and not necessary do them in order - succeeded

08/ I will read books, watch tv shows and movies and pretty much be as lazy as possible - succeeded

09/ I will accept failure - failed, acceptance is overrated

10/ I will say 'no' if I want to  - failed but that's because there are some things I just can't say no to

How about you? How did you do on your New Year's resolution?

  3. DEar Lissa, I just read these to Alexandra and she said of you, "she is so fun!" Of course, I'm chuckling as I read your rather dour, pessimistic but funny comments like: "07/ I will continue to draw, write and blog even if no one sees any of it and not necessary do them in order - succeeded" which is especially funny next to: "04/ I will not do anything that will make my life difficult - failed but it will mostly be a fail no matter what I do anyway." I love this one too: "09/ I will accept failure - failed, acceptance is overrated" and knew you could never succeed in "03/ I will not seek happiness in buying books"

While you don't really do new year's resolutions, I realise that this falls under one of those "some things I just can't say no to!" :D Good read, Lissa.

  4. I meant to be cheerful instead of dour, well, okay, maybe the pessimistic me won't let me cheerful with this list but it's okay, succeed or fail, that's life.

thanks for your visit. have a lovely day.

  5. I think one can be cheerful and dour! :) I find great humour in seeing the glass half empty and noticing the finger prints too, oftentimes. :)
